Company Applies to Selby for Incinerator Licence |
Residents and Parish Councillors have been shocked by the news that a company has allegedly applied for a licence to burn whole and part animal carcases close to Riccall. |
A similar development was proposed in 2000 and received planning permission following a lengthy public enquiry. However it is not clear whether a licence was issued for operation of the plant. |
If the current development progresses and a licence is granted, Selby District Council have vowed to strictly monitor and control emissions from the plant. |
The Parish Council was strongly opposed to the original plans and Chairman Howard Adamson said “We will continue to oppose the plans” |
Meetings are planned over the coming weeks and if you would like your views to be heard, please contact the Clerk, Lindsey Ryan. |
