Riccall Mine Site Meeting 29th September 2007

As you may be aware, UK Coal won its appeal to re-use the former Riccall mine site for office and light industrial use.

Riccall Parish Council has supported the bid to re-use the site and has been continually involved in talks with UK Coal, in an attempt to make the change over process, traffic issues, site security, tenants and potential job prospects as attractive and sympathetic to local people as possible.

The Parish Council, along with UK Coal, has arranged a meeting on-site at the former mine site on Saturday 29th September 2007 at 10am for approximately two hours. The meeting will be an opportunity for local people to have a look around the site and to hear UK Coal’s plans for its future. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and the meeting will cover transport issues, local employment and job opportunities, preoccupation works, community use of the football pitches and pavilion and the setting up of a liaison committee.

If you are interested in the future of this site, then please do come along and find out more.
