Plans to develop Phase 4 of Riccall Recreation Ground should hopefully go ahead this summer. A funding application for part of the money to build this new area currently rests with ‘The Big Lottery Fund’ as part of the ‘Changing Spaces – Community Spaces’ scheme. Phase 4 includes a separately fenced pre-school area and a bird’s nest seat. Further information on equipment will be provided once a contract for the work has been awarded.
Howard Adamson, Chair of the Riccall Recreation Development Group said: ‘We hope to go ahead with this phase as soon as the funding is in place. The group has part of the money but is reliant on the grant from Changing Spaces to complete the funding package. This area is greatly needed as we are well aware that the Recreation Ground does not cater for the very young pre-school age group. We look forward to being able to arrange installation of this new phase of play equipment.’
