Phase 2 of the development of Riccall Recreation Ground was completed early in January. This saw the installation of further equipment for older children and teenagers; an aerial slide, a Kompan Supernova Roundabout and an ‘Encounter’ meeting area.
NYCC Community Development Fund, Riccall Parish Council and NYCC Selby Area Committee have provided support for the latest phase of this exiting village development.
There has already been a huge increase in visitors to the ‘Rec’ and since it opened, the aerial slide has been particularly popular with young Riccall residents!
Phase 3 of the development will see a fenced area for toddlers and skate area for teenagers although the final design has yet to be finalised.
Riccall Recreation Development Group Chairman, Howard Adamson said “These facilities have been needed in the village for a long time and will provide further enjoyment for children of all ages. They are part of the ongoing community development ethos Riccall is justly renowned for and proud of”
Secretary of the Group, Lindsey Ryan added “The group has worked in close partnership with local children when planning equipment for the second phase. Applications are now being put together for the final phase, which will complete these much needed facilities”
The equipment to date has been provided and installed by the specialist company Playdale. See their website for further information CLICK HERE
