The development of Riccall Recreation Ground … |
|
Phase 1 of the development of Riccall Recreation Ground was completed early in 2005, catering for children in the junior age range. Funding for Phase 1 was provided by ‘Living Spaces’ (a scheme funded by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to help local people improve the local environment), Riccall Parish Council, a section 106 agreement (funding given by builders of new houses in the village towards recreational equipment) and local fundraising. |

This week sees the installation of three new pieces of equipment on Riccall Recreation Ground (an Aerial slide, a Kompan Supernova roundabout and an Encounter meeting area). North Yorkshire County Council Community Fund, Riccall Parish Council, North Yorkshire County Council Selby Area Committee and local fundraising have provided the funding for Phase 2 of this 3- Phase development. Local youths have been consulted and high on the wish list for Phase 2 (the phase aimed at equipment for older youths) was an aerial slide, closely followed by a meeting area. |
