Ground work is now complete on the new skate park, which is to be built at the rear of Riccall Recreation Ground. Ramps will be erected before late September / early October and the park will then be available for use.
The skate park, costing £45,000 has been mainly funded by the Big Lottery Young Peoples fund (£30,000), with contributions from Riccall Parish Council and local fundraising.
The Council, alongside Riccall Recreation Development Group is planning a launch day, once the park is finished, details of which will be advertised on the Council website www.riccallpc.com , around the village notice boards and on www.riccallskatepark.co.uk a website set up by a local skater as a forum for skaters, bikers and bladers.
The Recreation Development Group and the Council would like to thank all of the people that regularly gave up their time to be involved with this project. Particular thanks go to the group of young people that did designs, looked through brochures, listened to presentations from skate park companies and became part of the decision making body. The skate park has been designed by the user group and we hope that you will get great enjoyment from this new facility in Riccall.
