New Traffic Speed Limit in Action on Coppergate

Main Street have been agreed and work should start shortly, including up-grading the path at the Pinfold. Work in respect of signage at the Back Lane/Church Street junction is also imminent, as is work on improving the cycle way entrance into the southern end of the village. Public consultation will take place over possible parking restrictions in the area of the traffic lights. The question of a speed limit down Selby Road has been raised. All of the above are as a result of proposals agreed by the Parish Council after prolonged discussions with interested parties and public consultation. The Parish Council is grateful for the support of our County Councillor on these matters.

In the village, new school warning lights were installed last summer and a 20mph limit for Coppergate has today been introduced. 30mph roundels will shortly appear on the carriageways at the three main entrances to the village. Measures to improve the junction of Northfield Lane and
