Riccall Roundabout - NYCC To Hold Major Review

North Yorkshire County Council have decided to review the decision to axe the proposed roundabout scheme at the A19 South junction with the village. This is because of the “amount of publicity and correspondence” that has been received since the decision was made earlier this year.

NYCC will spend £20,000 reviewing safety along the whole of the A19 between York and Selby. This study will start in April and is planned to be complete by September 2007.

The Parish Council has worked hard to raise the awareness of this issue and it is this combined with the efforts of all those residents that have campaigned and signed the petition that has brought about this welcome review.

This does not mean that the roundabout will be constructed but it certainly means that the plans will again be reviewed.

The Parish Council will continue to lobby for the roundabout scheme to go ahead and will participate in the review as fully as possible.
