Riccall Councillors travelled to County Hall in July, in order to present the petition to the Chairman of North Yorkshire County Council (see photo). The petition, condemning the NYCC decision to withdraw the Riccall A19 roundabout scheme from the current highways works programme, was signed by just under 1000 local people.
The Parish Council has received a letter from the Corporate Director of Business and Environmental services at NYCC, Gordon Gresty, acknowledging receipt of the petition and confirming that it will form part of a verbal report at the next Selby Area Committee.
The Selby Area Committee meeting is open to the public and will be held on Monday 17th September 2007 at 6pm at Kellington Community village hall. Riccall Parish Council will be sending along a representative. If you would like to hear what is said about the petition, then please do go along.
