There have been stories in the local press over the last few days about the fact that the Animal Incinerator planned for Riccall airfield, is to be granted an operating permit.
Riccall Parish Council has strongly opposed the Incinerator from the first application and continues to strongly oppose it. Selby District Council’s Environmental Health department have put together a draft permit with Amlon metals Ltd trading as ‘Euromet’ and it does now seem likely that this permit will be granted (though at the present time it is still in DRAFT form). Once the applicant has this operating permit there may still be some planning issues. Selby District Council Planning department assures Riccall Parish Council that if the applicant wishes to deviate in any way from the original planning approval granted by the Inspector then a new application will have to be made. At this time, a new application has not been submitted to Selby DC.
Building work cannot start until all planning issues have been cleared.
