Since the beginning of May this year, Saturday mornings on Riccall Recreation Ground have seen young Riccall skaters getting coaching from local volunteer and adult skate enthusiast, Gary Rowntree. Gary, working in partnership with Riccall Recreation Development group and Riccall Parish Council, offers support to beginners trying skateboarding for the first time and for those wanting to improve their skills. The skatepark is closed to all but beginners between 9am and 11am each Saturday and weather permitting, coaching will continue through the summer months.
The development of Riccall Recreation Ground continues, with phase 4, an enclosed pre-school play area planned for later this year. 2009 should see the whole play area completed and a launch party is planned.
