Riccall – ‘Highly Commended’ in Calor North Yorkshire East Village of the Year
Having submitted an application early in 2008, Riccall was short-listed for the ‘Calor North Yorkshire East Village of the Year’ (See story listed in Aug 08). Five representatives of the village attended the finalist’s presentation evening in October 2008, where Riccall was ‘Highly Commended’ as a finalist. The winner of the title for 2008 was Oswaldkirk. A framed certificate is on display in the Regen Centre. Brian Keen, Riccall PC Chairman said: ‘Riccall had much to offer in 2008 and will continue to have much to offer in 2009 and for as long as it enjoys the vibrant community spirit that currently exists. Well done to everyone that took part.’
