A meeting held between Riccall Parish Council, John Grogan MP and David Bowe of North Yorkshire County Council Highways Department looked for solutions to the ever increasing access and safety concerns at the southern Riccall junction onto the A19.
David Bowe continues to state that the recent accident history at the junction no longer warrants a roundabout, which was previously promised by NYCC. The Parish Council continues to push for an appropriate solution to this junction, allowing residents safe access onto the A19. Various safety improvement measures were discussed at the meeting and David Bowe promised to assess the A19 junction again and look at various ideas, including a speed limit on this stretch of road and warning signs alerting drivers to the Riccall junction.
