Council Clerk CiLCA Success

Riccall Parish Council is beginning to put forward a portfolio of evidence, in the hope of attaining ‘Quality Council Status.’ This benchmark brings real benefits to the community including more responsive services; the quality council will be able to solve more local problems without recourse to Selby District Council or North Yorkshire County Council.

Congratulations to our Clerk & Finance Officer, Lindsey Ryan, who has completed and passed the ‘CiLCA’ qualification and has been awarded a distinction. This qualification is aimed at Clerks to Councils and is highly regarded within the local government sector; demonstrating a clear understanding of Council procedures and management, alongside community engagement. Lindsey, who has studied for nearly two years to gain ‘CiLCA’ says, ‘I am thrilled with the result, which acts as a first step in the Council’s ‘Quality Council Status’ application. The Council has set up a small group to look at this prospect and we hope to have put a comprehensive portfolio together by later this year.’
